Neustart / Restart

Nach dem Fehlschlag mit dem selbst gebauten Dome wurde es sehr still um den armen R2 lediglich im Oktober 2013 orderte ich einen F&J Dome (leider sind die Lieferzeiten unendlich lang daher ist er bis jetzt noch nicht da).
Danach schlief alles etwas ein, man hatte keine Lust, zuviel andere Projekte denen man seine Aufmerksamkeit widmen musste usw.

Aber im Juni 2014 wurde wieder das Feuer entfacht und so begann ich wieder von vorne.
In Erwartung des Domes, ließ ich mal das ganze drum herum um den Dome sein und widmete mich dem Frame.
Ursprünglich war der Plan die Polystyrol Pläne zu nehmen und das Material mit dem Laser Cutter zu beschneiden. Allerdings bekam ich Gesellschaft im Projekt und so entschlossen wir uns der Frame sollte aus Holz sein.
Und schon begann wieder die suche nach Plänen für einen Holzframe (Senna Frame).
Diese waren auch schnell gefunden doch stellten sie mich gleich vor ein riesen Problem, nämlich die Pläne waren nur als PDF vorhanden und so konnten sie nicht für die CNC-Fräse vorbereitet werden.
Leider gab es sie nur als PDF-Version und so kam rasch die Entscheidung die Pläne einfach neu zu konstruieren um sie weiterverarbeiten zu können.
Dies ging dank des wiederkehrenden gelerntem sehr rasch von der Hand und so wurden ganz schnell aus den zölligen PDF's, metrische Pläne.
Die Simulation lief wunderbar ab und zeigte perfekte Teile für den Frame.

       

After the first fail with the Dome, the project lies on ice, I only placed an order in October 2013 for a F&J Fiber Dome. (but it took so long to be build and delivered so it isn't still here.
After that nothing happened for this project, no pleasure, too much other project which needed my attention and so on.

But in June 2014 the fire starts again and so i restarted the project.
In anticipation for the Dome, I decided to dedicate myself on the frame.
The first plan was to build a Styrene Droid, so I prepared the drawings for the laser cutter but then I get company and after a short discussion we decided to make a wooden frame.
And now another search started for wooden frame drawings.
I found very quick plans for a wooden frame (senna frame) but the drawings had a big problem. The plans only exist in PDF format and for the CNC-milling machine I need CAD-files. Unfortunately there are no CAD-files, so I created new ones for me and the CNC machine.
This goes very quick, because my knowledge from school came back and so the inch drawings become very quick a metric drawings.
The CNC simulation works fine and shows me perfect parts of the frame.
